PUSHTAR

2015 | HDV | COLOUR | 58 mins
In a dystopian future 350 years hence, survivors in the Himalayan community of Pushtar communicate by sign language to conserve precious oxygen.
Into this world, the weather children are born with a unique adaptation: the ability to sense changes in air pressure that herald an approaching methane storm, or a shift in a distant mountain range. Their warnings are crucial to survival and they are watched by the elders.
Two weather children are born that develop new forms of communication that will help them to escape Pushtar.
Civilization is but a distant memory, and to the children themselves, life as we live it, is just a story.
